The project has passed the tenth year...

Compared with last years the following process was made:

2014-2015 - 1 base proven, 314 bases unstarted
2015-2016 - 5 bases proven, 297 bases unstarted
2016-2017 - 5 bases proven, 282 bases unstarted
2017-2018 - 1 base proven, 264 bases unstarted
2018-2019 - 6 bases proven, 218 bases unstarted
2019-2020 - 4 bases proven, 120 bases unstarted
2020-2021 - 3 bases proven, 101 bases unstarted
2021-2022 - 0 bases proven, 97 bases unstarted
2022-2023 - 3 bases proven, 69 bases unstarted
2023-2024 - 4 bases proven, 69 bases unstarted
in total - 32 bases proven, 56 bases unstarted

Things went very well for the CRUS project this year. In total 11 bases were proven, 4 of them by BOINC.

At the end of the year, GIMPs decided to change the output file for TF shortly. It now contains a residue to make better comparisons / double checks on different hosts.

Therefore, all applications for TF must be updated and the server config changed. Tests will follow soon.

There are still problems with AMD cards 6000+ and latest Intel Arc GPUs for the mfakto application. It will take some time due to a lack of availability to change them.

What you all collectively do during the next 35 days will determine whether PPSE is included in the 2025 edition of Tour de Primes. If you want to help PPSE to be included in this year's Tour de Primes (TdP), please run PPSE and do NOT run GFN-17. PPSE is about 10 thousand digits below what is necessary to currently be eligible for T5K, and thus for TdP. It's possible to make up the difference in the time remaining before TdP starts (February 1st), but there are currently too may new primes being added to T5K, and each new prime raises the threshold. Primarily, these primes are GFN-17. Your choice is simple: run PPSE and you're more likely to have an easy project with which to earn a TdP badge in February. Run GFN-17, and you'll probably need to find a megaprime to earn a TdP badge. Everyone is, of course, free to run whatever projects they want to run. It helps, however, to have the information necessary to make an informed decision.

GIMPS has changed the results output. New TF work is currently stopped.

There is a need to updating all mfaktc apps too and testing them.

On newer Linux versions yafu failed. I deployed version 212 for Linux for app yafu, which should fix this.
The new version is currently only for app yafu available. If this runs well it will be deployed also for all other versions.

I changed the workunit generation for sr2sieve workunits, workunits which are named sr2_*. The sieve range is now smaller and workunits are running faster. With this they are fitting also better die old CPUs and ARM processors.
